As the player that stands on the back right corner, has a chance to serve it up, they play their remainder of the fault in that position. Until that particular team scores a point again then that is when they are to rotate. Rotating is a penalty for forgetting to move, moving to the wrong spot, and having switched spots with another team mate. All players must follow their correct rotating spots to remain in the game.
When your opponents get a ball to your side of the net and is very close to touching the net, you may use a block. A block is when one or two players run close to the net without touching it and blocks it from touching the net or coming on their side. The only people that may participate are either the two in the front row or the two in the middle. A player in the back row is not to try and help. This is for precautions of the game incase the ball comes flying back your way, the back two will be able to use defense for their team as they are all in the front.
The only part that also may only touch the opponent’s court is their hands, and their feet. If anything else touches their court they have a penalty serve to start with. Also you may take not that when you are serving you can not step on or over the required end line. The very first serve is determined by the old fashioned coin toss. Volleyball positions
There are six players on a team. There are also back up members incase one is not playing their best or one is injured at the time of the game. Those people are called alternates players. There are six men or woman that play in the game at all times and there are seven positions that fill them all in.
Setters are the ones that are standing in the very back of the domino like rotating stance. They are also positioned to be in the right back corner. They are the ones that start off the game. They also start the ball as they serve the ball over the net. As the setters serve the ball into the air whether it makes it over the net or not, they are the ones that will determine how good the play is at this time. Servers also play two roles at once.
Liberos are the players that are often positioned in the front. These players are the ones that are originally supposed to protect the ball from their own team. Sometimes when the team players have already done all they can and the back and middle players cant run to the front the ball often hits the net or bounces in your own court. You do not want this happening because you will give the opposite team that point. But when the Liberos work together fast they also have to remember to not touch the net, not clothing and not even a piece of hair. This will also result in penalty.
Middle hitters are the ones that are standing in the middle of the back row and the front row. At this position these players are going to want to be fast at attacking the ball and being fast about it. The players in the middle are usually the tallest players. But in defense, their skill isn’t needed as much. The players in the middle are the players that occasionally bunt often. With their heads are what the middle uses most, you do not have to but it works best for them.
Power hitters will come from the back of the rotation. The power hitters are mostly to keep the ball from going out of bounds. Out of bounds balls result in a foul. If the opposite team serves the ball and one of the teammates on your team touch the ball then you automatically get the foul.
